{"id":1924,"date":"2018-12-02T18:47:49","date_gmt":"2018-12-02T17:47:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/?p=1924"},"modified":"2018-12-02T21:42:00","modified_gmt":"2018-12-02T20:42:00","slug":"esp8266-and-espeasy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/?p=1924","title":{"rendered":"ESP8266 and Espeasy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had this old esp-01 standing on my desk for a while and decided to dust it out by flashing <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/letscontrolit\/ESPEasy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Espeasy <\/a>firmware.<br \/>\nAbout this esp8266, see previous articles <a href=\"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/?s=esp8266&amp;searchsubmit=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Note that if you are not sure which esp8266 you model you have, check it out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letscontrolit.com\/wiki\/index.php\/Tutorial_ESPEasy_Firmware_Upload\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Before we flash, lets do some simple wiring :<br \/>\n-wire 3v3 and ground.<br \/>\n-wire tx to rx, and rx to tx (I use a usb to serial ftdi adapter)<br \/>\n-set gpio0 to low (ground)<br \/>\n-set ch_pd (also referred to en) to high (3v3)<br \/>\n-power off\/on to enter flash mode<\/p>\n<p>It is as simple as put your firmware next to flashesp8266.exe (in my case firmware is ESPEasy_mega-20180102_normal_ESP8266_1024.bin) and execute ESPEasy Flasher.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/imgur.com\/mmyo9Ph\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"source: imgur.com\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/mmyo9Ph.png\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/imgur.com\/GaofdkN\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"source: imgur.com\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/GaofdkN.png\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once flash is completed, set gpio0 free (but leave ch_pd high), power off\/on and you should see a new ssid on your network called esp_easy_0 (password=configesp).<br \/>\nconfigure it i.e connect it to your wireless network and you are done.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/imgur.com\/6nF5W6n\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"source: imgur.com\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/6nF5W6n.png\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had this old esp-01 standing on my desk for a while and decided to dust it out by flashing Espeasy firmware.
