{"id":1969,"date":"2018-12-28T20:40:14","date_gmt":"2018-12-28T19:40:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/?p=1969"},"modified":"2019-01-03T21:11:59","modified_gmt":"2019-01-03T20:11:59","slug":"windows-firewall-rules-gui","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/?p=1969","title":{"rendered":"Windows Firewall Rules GUI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since windows XP, windows has a built-in host-based firewall.<br \/>\nA decent firewall where one can allow or block traffic based on executable and\/or source\/destination\/protocol.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, you may not always have access to the MMC (wf.msc) and the console GUI is not always straightforward but rather wizard oriented.<\/p>\n<p>Windows Firewall GUI is a \u00ab\u00a0one window does it all\u00a0\u00bb standalone executable running on windows 7 up to latest windows 10 version.<\/p>\n<p>Probably more important, as the GUI is quite simple and possibly redundant with existing windows functionalities, source code is available (on my <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/erwan2212\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">github<\/a>) as well so others may build onto it.<\/p>\n<p>One can :<br \/>\n-view all rules at once<br \/>\n-sort and export to HTML<br \/>\n-delete a rule<br \/>\n-add a rule<br \/>\n-enable\/disable a rule<br \/>\n-enable\/disable the firewall<br \/>\n-turn on\/off logging (dropped packets)<br \/>\n-open and monitor the windows firewall log<br \/>\n-get current profile (domain\/private\/public)<br \/>\n-get default inbound\/outbound action for current profile<br \/>\n-restore local windows firewall defaults<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/imgur.com\/bnLBJ68\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/bnLBJ68.png\" title=\"source: imgur.com\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Download <a href=\"https:\/\/erwan.labalec.fr\/other\/firewall_gui.zip\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since windows XP, windows has a built-in host-based firewall.
