{"id":2573,"date":"2025-02-21T12:09:48","date_gmt":"2025-02-21T11:09:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/?p=2573"},"modified":"2025-04-13T13:48:53","modified_gmt":"2025-04-13T11:48:53","slug":"sharing-my-experience-about-flashing-my-galaxy-tab-a8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/?p=2573","title":{"rendered":"Sharing my experience about flashing my Galaxy Tab a8"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I have a galaxy tab a8 for a few years now (and i previously owned many different models in the galaxy tab series).<br>I use it mainly for web browsing, social networks and mails.<br>I was never impressed by the performances from day 1 but lately the tablet was really laggy and especially from waking up the device : for a few minutes, the tablet was barely usable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So i decided to flash it, here below my steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure you have the latest \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developer.android.com\/tools\/releases\/platform-tools\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Android SDK Platform-Tools<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb (version 35.0.2-12147458 in my case)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure you have the latest \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developer.samsung.com\/android-usb-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb (version 1.7.61.0 in my case)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enable oem unlock in developper options (dont forget to reboot and enter download mode to actually activate oem unlock \/ the tablet will be reseted to factory)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter download mode and flash twrp via odin (AP slot \/ Use the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/MrFluffyOven\/android_device_samsung_gta8wifi\/releases\/tag\/twrp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MrFlufflyOven twrp 3.7.1<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter recovery mode (twrp) and reboot to fastbootd<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While in fastbootd mode, flash new image (in my case: fastboot flash system lineage-21.0-20250125-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgN-signed.img from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/andyyan-gsi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">andyyan-gsi<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional : If the flashed image is not lineageos, consider flashing back the stock recovery (extracted with 7zip from the stock image downloaded from samfw.com)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The tablet rebooted smoothly to lineageos and has never been so well performing : user experience has never been so snappy&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reminder :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To enter download mode, hold volume up and volume down at the same time then plug your usb cable connected to your computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To enter recovery mode, hold volume up and power buttons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a galaxy tab a8 for a few years now (and i previously owned many different models in the galaxy tab series).I use it mainly for web browsing, social networks and mails.I was never impressed by the performances from day 1 but lately the tablet was really laggy and especially from waking up the <a href='https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/?p=2573' class='excerpt-more'>[&#8230;]<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[144],"tags":[146,145],"class_list":["post-2573","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-android","tag-android","tag-samsung","category-144-id","post-seq-1","post-parity-odd","meta-position-corners","fix"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2573","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/7"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=2573"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2573\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2585,"href":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2573\/revisions\/2585"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=2573"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=2573"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/labalec.fr\/erwan\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=2573"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
